Purpose & Qualifications
The Lib Nightingale Mission Fund Grant has been established by Glenview United Methodist Church, Missions & Service Ministry Committee, to provide financial assistance to individuals who embrace the spirit of our faith by focusing their energies to support, sustain, and enrich the quality of life for those they serve. The mission experience can be of your own choosing as long as it qualifies as a recognized service project, i.e. it serves to meet important needs of the deserving recipient. Some examples include, but are not limited to: Projects – food pantries, community garden, nursing home communities, etc. Mission Trips – U.M. Volunteers in Mission (VIM), Habitat for Humanity, Interfaith Council, or similar. You are welcome, but not required, to choose an already established project or trip; we encourage you to consider your own ideas on how best to make a difference in someone’s life.
Eligibility: Must be an active member or regular attendee and actively involved in the Glenview United Methodist Church.
Instructions:
Applications must be submitted at least three months before the mission project event. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the year by the Ad-Hoc Grant Committee.
You will be contacted for an interview.
Grant decisions will be made within one month of the committee receiving a hard copy of the application. Determination rests with the Ad-Hoc Grant Committee of the Glenview United Methodist Church. When applicable, awards will be given directly to the ministry in which the recipient participates, marked for specific use by the applicant indicated.

Grant recipients are expected to send a report to the GUMC/MSM within one month of the event. Describe the outcome of the trip or project and how the funds were used. Pictures would be appreciated.
Full reimbursement of funds donated by this Grant is expected if the mission project fails to materialize.
